As an example of the music that can be produced by putting together what has been outlined on the other pages of this little site - the mordern western equitempered scale and the brass instruments we have looked at together with the timpani ("timps") and drum kit that form part of a modern brass band - here are two public performances given by an amateur brass band in which the writer of these pages was one of the players. The works presented might be said to represent opposite ends of the musical spectrum. The performances were not perfect - there is that regrettably-flat soprano cornet in Track 1 - but overall were perhaps not too bad. And It was a privilege to be a part of both. |
